Short DescriptionPrimer is a Korean startup incubator that supports new entrepreneurs by passing down the “DNA” of experienced entrepreneurs to them.
Long DescriptionPrimer is a startup incubator, which helps starting entrepreneurs by cloning and passing down experienced entrepreneurs' DNA. It derives its name from molecular biology: a nucleic acid strand (or related molecule) that serves as a starting point for DNA replication.
Primer was founded in January 2010 as the first startup accelerator in Korea by five successful entrepreneurs who exited their businesses or took them IPO. We target mainly young entrepreneurs or college students.
We run two programs for entrepreneurs at different stages:
1. The enternship program is held twice a year with a broad scope and open to anyone interested in startups. The best teams have the chance to pitch at Demo Day and continue in the incubator program.
2. The incubator program is open to the best teams from the enternship round and via online application. The scope includes internet, software, mobile and gaming; not hardware. Primer invests USD 20-50k in the companies for 5-10% of the total shares. We provide legal/IP support and in depth mentoring.
We believe that management is more valuable than money, integrity than ability, talent then experience.
